I saw him doing it at nap time, he was sleepy but didn't want to go sleep, so I think he was doing it to keep himself awake. Maybe he just had his fingers in his mouth 🤷🏿♀️ (cuz he's teething,) and he was tapping his fingernails on his teeth? Idk

Oh yea that’s young. My son started around 4&1/2-5 years old. But I noticed he would do it when he was anxious/scared or stressed about something. So we got to the root of the issue and talked a lot with him about not doing it and he stopped. Yours is a little young maybe try to distract him when u notice him doing it?
