First day taking both kids out alone: got everyone buckled in, then realized my purse was missing

Today is the first day I took the kids out on my own. After struggling to take them both to the car and get them buckled in something said check for your purse. I checked their bag no purse. I had to take them both out, go back to the house and take them back to the car again, not to mention I had to go up steps. I'm was sweating!
