Trying out breastfeeding. I started leaking and swelling with milk last night. It just showed up last night like bam lol. But in the hospital and while pregnant they didn't do anything and they weren't swollen or anything which I though was weird that they would start last night our 1st night home... anyone else have this happen??? She's doing great with my breasts and formula lol. I need to invest in a pump and one those ones that collect what's just dripping from them. She's 3days old today 💕 she's doing great and mommas just tired. Lol sleeping at home was great though lol. Dr Monday at 10am 💕 I got birth control instead of getting my tubes tied lol. I kinda want another down the road somewhere lol. But updated y'all lol we are great just tired 💕

Kellymom is my favorite website for breastfeeding info. What you’re going through right now is called engoregment and it’ll last 24-48 hours. Here’s an article that will help keep if you need some relief from swollen boobs while your milk comes in:

What you described is totally normal. Right after baby is born it usually doesn't "feel" like you have milk because it's colostrum which is a different type of milk full of good fats and antibodies. Newborns don't eat very much so there's not much of it. After a few days your milk comes in. That's why you feel full all of a sudden and are leaking milk. That's good. Just keep nursing. You really don't need to pump unless you're wanting to give breast milk in a bottle. Pumping isn't necessary if baby is nursing straight from the breast fine.

Milk comes in 3-5 days after you give birth. That’s why they feel full and swollen. Good luck!
