When i was a kid I wanted to be a cop. I switched it real quick, after I saw a cop abrsuing his power while I was a child. Now everytime I see a police car, I automatically get scared. If I don't need them for anything, I don't acknowledge them. And now that I'm a mother with 3 small black children. Little black girls, it's time to tell them RESPECT the police. LISTEN to everything they say. I try not to sleep cause my dreams turn into nightmares. I'm scared.

I'm a pretty upstanding citizen, I'm not out here getting in trouble, causing any trouble. I don't hang out with "the wrong crowd," but every time I see a cop car in my rearview, my palms get sweaty, I'm looking at my speedometer, wondering if my taillight is broken, wondering if my lights are on, hoping there's no reason for me to get pulled over. I just get worried, and for no reason at all!
I will teach my child to respect the police, speak if spoken to, don't argue, don't make any sudden movements
