I can’t never forget when I was almost a teenager me and my family went to some park for a BBQ and to play games. At the end of the night my brother, baby sister and me all got into his car so we can head home. We were in the car talking about how much fun we had and he was going to get us ice cream when all of a sudden a cop car pulls us. My brother looks at us telling my sister and me not to say anything just stay calm that’s when the cop knocks on my brothers window told him to turn off his lights. He asks him do you know why I pulled you over my brother says no Sir the cop says because your lights are off. He also says we fit the profile of some people breaking into houses and asked why do we have a bat my brother tells him we played games at the park. He tells us to go straight home and stay out this neighborhood which we lived in.. when the cop left my brother cried all the way to the house and kept saying sorry. That was the most scariest day ever and it happened because we are a different skin color

My SO was in a car with 2 other friends (they were 18-20 years old at the time) and was pulled over because their car was “too loud”. 4 other police cars arrived. They asked them why they were out so late. So my SO and his friends explained that they were all going home after playing video games together. They were then asked to get out of the car and were handcuffed as they searched the car. HANDCUFFED even though they had done nothing wrong.
They had done absolutely nothing wrong other than that they were black.

Omg that must of been scary for them. My nephew was walking home from work still in his work uniform when out of nowhere he got tackled to the ground by three cops who kept yelling at him to put his hands behind his back which he already did. He said there was 6 cop cars they had guns pointing at him. Thank goodness they let him go only because my grandfather showed up and he was a cop.... the world is never going to change and it’s horrible ☹️

My boyfriends cousin got shot and killed by this (White) lady cop because he was apart of a gang and her daughter was raped by a gang member and she automatically thought it was him and killed him in the middle of the street .. she later comes to find out it wasn’t even him or any of his gang friends it was a whole different gang and she went to jail .. my boyfriends cousin had a 1yr old daughter and a girlfriend that both witnessed his death .. his daughter is now graduated out of high school and it’s sad because she never got to know her dad and his girlfriend has been a single parent ever since it happened .

Thank you for sharing. I’m white woman so I will never be able to totally relate to any of this. However, it’s important for me to stand beside all of you and fight for your equality and for what is right. I’m so angry and sad about what is happening in our country. I am married to a black man and have biracial children. This fight is important for the future of my children and children everywhere.
I will share a story that I experienced once with police. I was in the car with my husband. They pulled us over, ripped him out of the car and ask where the guns and drugs were. This was literally for no reason at all. It was so horrible for him and was only one of many bad encounters with police.

When I was in the hospital fighting corona a white nurse came into the room looked at me and rolled her eyes. She kept saying if I’m really in pain or it’s in my head when I said I’m in a lot of pain and saying it while in tears she rolled her eyes again put the needle into my iv and left the room. I had to page them telling them what happened and a different nurse came in to take it out she said that’s not supposed to stay there
