UC Davis MIND Institute has a group for African American parents with children who have disabilities, mostly autism. We usually get together once a month but we did zoom for the second month in a row. I have to say, it’s been really fun and really awesome. This month was talking about mental health and how to add parent goals into your IEP as well.

We are opening the line up nationwide. If anyone wants to join for next months meeting via zoom video or phone call on June 24th, let me know so I can get you the information to join us.

I honestly don’t know where I would be without the MIND Institute. They’ve tested my son for both autism and anxiety and have been a great resource for my family.
