I posted a while ago that my oven stopped working. Well it just decided to catch on fire. I was on the phone with my fiance and heard this weird buzzing and looked behind me and there was flames and sparks flying inside. Idk what happened. Theres nothing in it and I havent even tried to turn it on since it broke. It went out on its own but I've never been so scared. We live in a mobile home so it'll go up fast if it catches. I wouldnt be able to get me and the kids and all the animals out. I just scooped AJ up and ran out the door left the door open and literally stood there and watched as my dogs just stood there looking at it. Ugh. Its unplugged now and my SO will be putting it out on the curb when he gets home. The landlord has been contacted. Im shaking. My fire alarm didn't even go off.

Sorry this happened but NEVER leave the door open. Always close it and pull the plug!!! Then get the heck out like you did. So happy you're ok. Definitely an electrical situation. By pulling the plug to cut the source of the fire and closing the door suffocates it.

I meant I left the front door open not the oven door. I didnt even try to open the oven i just scooped my son up and grabbed the blanket sitting on the couch to cover him up cuz he was bare booty and ran out. I worded that funny so i see why you thought I opened the oven door. I did open it but only after I knew it was out. It could have been way worse than it was but it was so scary. It has had electrical problems since we got it. They replaced all the wiring up top a few months ago because the burners quit working and then the oven quit about a month ago so ive just been using the burners. The maintenance guy said its bad wiring for sure and hes not even going to attempt to fix it hes just gunna have the landlord get a new one cuz its not worth risking a fire over.

we got our new one a few days ago so everything worked out in the end and im glad it wasnt worse than it was!
