Has anyone’s children kinda just, potty trained themselves ? I work on it with my son but not religiously . But the last few days he’ll randomly rip his diaper off and sit on the potty and pee . He was almost asleep about an hour and a half ago and woke up , ripped his diaper off and said mommy peepee! So I got up to try and sure enough he went . Not once , but every time I emptied it gets kept making himself go! Went atleast 10 times in the course of an hour.

Violet did. She took her diaper off one day, I told her no diaper meant she had to use the potty. She hasn’t used a diaper since. Not even for nights or naps

he only seems to want to do it when naked . But if he undoes his diaper when bored or something then he’ll go all day if I let him stay naked lol

have you looked into the three day potty training method? It seems like he has hoped on the bandwagon on his own!

This makes me smile so sincerely for you! It's great and he will be a wonderful big brother. Such an independent spirit will help with his desire to protect his baby when they arrive. And they'll have almost the same age difference as my girls. So happy I have never had two in diapers at the same time!!!!

We started working with our son around 2y/o and he would do it if we sat him on the potty ourselves, that lasted up until like 2.5 so we gave it a break because it seemed like he wasn’t even trying. We would offer it and suggest it without being to pushy. Then one day he ran to the bathroom on his own, still had accidents though. Once he saw his big cousin go to the bathroom on his own standing up that’s what did it. He never wanted to be in a pull up again! He only wore pull ups at night because he wouldn’t know to get up in the night to go. He was wearing them at night up until like 2 months ago and now he stays dry and doesn’t need them.
I’m a big believer in “they do it when THEY’RE ready” lol cause it sure as hell happened to me 😂

That’s what I think! Cause at the beginning of quarantine I was trying so hard and it just wasn’t working lol

Yep. I tried for awhile and gave up. Like 4 months later she literally woke up one day and went to pee. Fully potty trained by just before 3yrs old
