Initially we started with a time table but that quickly went out of the window when we didn’t have the work from school for the planned topic time or when we just had a battle to get our son to do anything.
Since Easter the school have been really good, they’ve sent through a weekly plan showing what they should be aiming to learn each week and a plan for each day for the main topics. Then daily they send out maths (usually a video to watch and a worksheet) and then some English work. And then something else so science/PSHE/music etc.
We try to do the bits each day and Monday and Tuesdays go really well. Wed is a mix and then thu is a challenge and Friday is just not happening. So I’m contemplating cutting out Wednesday. We will then try catch up with Wednesdays work on the thu, or fro. Or possibly on a Saturday.

We dont do loads getting my 14 yr old is like trying to get blood from a stone but as long as he does some im not worrying I'm not a teacher my 9 Yr old does 3 things per day

We’ve been given a topic heading (Ellis’ is Gardeners world and Lolas is Growing me) and then ideas for tasks to do for each. I pick 1 or 2 to do a day. Ellis’ teacher posts a daily idea (like something to make) and Lolas teachers posts a daily phonics video.
If I can sense the kids aren’t in the mood I don’t force them to do it, which is what happened today. They did a bit of painting then just got on with whatever they wanted to do.

School teacher has sent us the term topic and things to be doing. If Lexi isn't in the mood I don't even attempt to do school work otherwise all hell breaks loose. Usually we try and do it when Layla has her hour nap after dinner. I was stressing for the first 2 weeks about her doing school work every day etc but now as long as she does reading, some writing and some maths everyday I don't ask for anymore. Anymore than that is a bonus lol xx

Like you I started off with a scedule which quickly went out the window 🤣 I've expressed recently on here how I'm struggling getting Morgan to do any school work. He has extra help/ support at school as he struggles with his anxiety & is behind with reading & writing.
Now I'm just trying to do small bits here & there when I can get him motiviated to try! The school set a weekly planning scedule with various activities for all areas. English, Math, Science, Geography, History, Art, PSED, Music & P.E But we can do as much as we want/ can.
I have been given Morgan 2 options like do you want to do this or this. So he has some power over what he's doing but still covering what's on the list. I am having to bribe him with treats or game time. Some days are more productive than others! Yesterday he actually did 4 seperate activities. Today nothing lol. I'm trying not to get upset & worried about it but can't help it 🤷♀️

That's a nice idea. I can imagine Morgan still refusing to do anything he picked out unless it was a 'fun' activity lol. I'm just having to find the right time to sneakily slide in some activities. Like today he was talking about Earth so we went on to research some facts & he wrote them down. Nothing to do what's on his school list but he was reading & writing something!

For my 5year old I log into the website and we do all the tasks set each day, my 4yr olds preschool are also uploading daily challenges/activities so we do those as well. And they both read one book each. That's it, takes about 2/3hrs out of our day. We don't do any learning on weekends.
