Okay. So after going through having 2 babies, 6lbs 14oz, 9lbs 14oz, with no epidural, I decided this time I would. And let me tell you, that stuff is MAGIC. idk your experience was with it, but mine didn't hurt at all. I couldnt feel anything but VERY little pressure with contractions. I got it at 6cm where I was hurting, and could barley move, and within like 20 mins I was able to nap and woke up to being 10cm and ready to push. I pushed for MAYBE 30min. It went by VERY quick lol I feel great now too. No pain. Minimal tearing.and I'm not bleeding very heavy like I normally do. This was a great experience!!

Congratulations!!! And yes thank you for this. I see a lot of bad posts here about them, not so many good. It really depends on the anesthiologist. They can easily be messed up but I would've taken multiple epidurals to the back lmao. It was the best thing that ever happened to me in that moment. I was also able to nap and woke up at 10cm. Hallelujah for epidurals. 🙏🏻

I had a great experience with my first epidural too, similar to yours :). My second epidural failed but that's ok.

Congrats! Yup both my kids were with epidural and the first one was perfect the second I isn’t feeling any pain going in but it was done wrong and I felt all the contractions but none of the pushing. Glad you had a smooth delivery.

Everyone has a different experience! Yes the epidural works but getting a needle in your back is excruciating and I’m so glad I’m done having kids so I never have to do that again. Trying to sit ultra still while having the worst contractions of your life is nearly impossible. Anyways congrats on your baby! Can’t believe you have 5 boys!

Oh I've heard the horror stories. For me though, I'm beyond GREATFUL that it didn't hurt at all. The only hard part for me was sitting still. But I got it when the contractions weren't too bad yet. It worked well for me. They warned me about the chances of it not working, only partially working or something going wrong. I chose to do it anyways and am happy I did.

I hated the needle in my back. I did get the epidural everytime though and it worked like a dream. I tore with my first so I'm glad I did have it. Probably worse then the needle lol.

I also had a great experience with mine. I was also very grateful it was already in place when my daughter had to be born via emergency csection. They would have had to put me under general anesthesia and I would have missed the birth of my first born!
