My head is pounding. My child drew all over her little table, put her in time out. Scrubbed with a magic eraser, gotta scrub it again to try to get it off. She wouldnt calm down and take a nap, so i was a bad mom and gave her a small dose of her melatonin to get her to sleep (she had been up since 630). I'm exhausted, but cant sleep because of my head.

Havent talked to MIL in over a week because she got mad at me on Easter over something so stupid. Hasnt even texted asking to see her granddaughter like she usually does. Pisses me off because if you are mad at me, be mad at me, but don't take it out on your grandchild! (Dont want crap about her going to her grandmas, shes the babysitter and watches her when I need to go to the store, for us or her, or to my doctors appointments)

I just had a very long and reassuring answer typed and my daughter climbed on my phone. Oops. Take a deep breath. You're still a good mom and it's still a good day. Just overwhelming. We all have the those moments we wish we could have handled differently but unless you have done something horrible it doesn't make you a bad mom. As for grandma helping as long as she is staying home and not going anywhere and is taking all precautions possible to stay well sometimes there are risks you have to take as long as they are not foolish ones, do the best you can. My husband is doing the grocery runs for milk and fruit and we are not going grocery shopping for anything more than that until our freezer and pantry run out. Then I will be the one going since I handle our normal shopping. That's a risk I have to take to get things done as proficiently and within budget as possible. We all make choices and your choices you have shared do not sound like anything to be judged for. Chin up and drive in mama.

Try laying down with your daughter the next time this happens. I have a safe place in my home they when one of my daughters is just beyond their moment of "too tired" I place them there with a pillow and blanket and within 10 minutes their crying stops and they are knocked out cold. Could you give something like this a try?

Thank you for advice. Her place is usually in her room in her play castle with her animals. She wouldnt calm down. I let her cry in there it felt like 20 minutes, went in there talked to her and went back out and she started a fit again.

@kaitrack23 You're welcome. I have learned my girls well and even though they are good most of the time we are having more moments than usual right now so I have had to find methods that work. Even if she starts in after you leave let her cry. I don't believe in the cry it out method for babies but our big girls are old enough for us to "put our foot" down with them. It honestly hurts us more than them. They are learning. When my big girl is really going at it she has a time out place and I have her sit with her head down. A few minutes of that and she is out with her head on her desk. The other spot I mentioned before requires me laying a quilt down as a mat and then her pillow and blanket. I have instrumental music I also use to help calm all of us. It gives them the cue that it's sleepy time. Hope these ideas help you. Have a blessed night and sweet dreams!
