Y’all why does my straightener do this/get whatever this is on it!?
The only time I ever use it is after I take a shower and blow dry my hair. It didn’t start doing this until a few weeks ago.

To you put product in it before straightening it? It just looks like product have built up and burnt on it.

No. I never use anything in my hair. Everything I’ve tried always made it greasy looking afterwards. I just blow dry it and then straighten it.

Dyeing your hair and then using your straightener can make it come off like that

Use a heat protectant on your hair before straightening

It started this way before I dyed my hair. It’s been a month since I dyed my hair.

You always have to clean them with alcohol it’s from being on too hot or residue from product builds up
