I'm sorry that I offended you. I just can't see the logic in some of these comments (not just yours) and I do tend to come off as having the fury of a thousand suns when my mind is boggled. I personality trait I completely acknowledge.

Seriously though, your comment about the city supplying masks was just so flippant. Saying that the city should supply masks because it made it mandatory to cover your face while in public... just implies an "oh well if the city didn't give it to me, then I shouldn't have to do it" sort of mentality and that kind of mentality is what is killing people.

don’t take everything so literally. I was sort of joking. My husband made the same comment a few nights ago. That’s just how we deal with things. Just so you know, I have been following the rules, staying home and not visiting friends or going anywhere except grocery shopping. Most of my posts I’m looking for empathy and a place to vent. I am not clueless or stupid. Sometimes people just need to hear other people to say “I feel the same way and I’m frustrated too.”

yes, I agree that people need to hear friendly words of empathy and to commiserate frustrations and life's problems, and I'm happy you are doing your part by staying indoors and by practicing social distancing, but this virus is something that shouldn't be "sort of joking about"

Tone is something that is hard to decipher in written word, and even though you meant it as a "sort of joke" that doesn't mean that it translates well.

Any flippant remark no matter how benign you believe it is, can be misinterpreted from your original intention and be taken literally

The economy is tanking, and people don't know how they will pay for necessities.

People are dying as of today's count over 9000 dead from this virus just in the US with projections of 100 thousand to 240 thousand people dying in the US before this is over.

Medical staff are terrified that they don't have the PPEs to keep themselves safe while they are caring for the sick. And not having enough ventilators means that doctors will need to make the most horrible decisions on who gets a life saving treatment and who just dies untreated.

People are suffering in a multitude of ways. We are all in this together and "Sort of joking" doesn't help anyone. Why can't you see that?

make sure you buy from from a US seller. I've noticed that ebay is taking down a lot of listings for masks, due to the mask shortage in hospitals. The cloth ones with the valves aren't surgical or the N95 masks that healthcare workers wear but they're getting taken down anyway. Just an fyi that if you do find one it doesn't necessarily mean that the listing will be there a few hours later.
