35 weeks, almost at 36! I'm so thankful for my best friend of 25years, she sent me some AMAZING comfy clothes! I feel ready to slay the day in this outfit 😅
Today's my first online class for my weekend course EastWest Psychology: The Art and Science of Mindfulness.
I'll be learning about therapeutic methods of mindfulness for physiological and psychological benefits 📿🧘♀️
I'm SUPER NERVOUS But also BEYOND EXCITED
😬😁
So far I think it is fantastic! I have a lot of internal struggles while trying to stay mindful, such as letting thoughts come and go vs dwelling on a subject matter- but hopefully as we get further indepth I will be able to tame these distractions a bit better. I am hoping to learn as much as I can not only for myself but for my kids! Coping mechanisms are tricky to learn and I want to aid them the best I can throughout their life. I only had therapists that wanted to medicate me growing up, masking the issues instead of helping me cope- but so much more of the mind and our awareness can be a part of healing and understanding one's self, I want to be able teach that
Mindfulness is a skill we teach our adolescents we work with in counseling. It’s the foundation of learning other coping skills. Let me know what you think of your class and the material you are learning.
