My sister woke up to a flooded apartment! A pipe or few burst and her complex just told everyone in effected units they need to evacuate for a time while they fix everything.

Thankfully my sister has been 100% quarantined at home since March 15th. No grocery shopping or anything, so we know she’s not sick.

She is going to head over to my house since I have a guest room and we don’t want to risk infecting my mom with anything since she has COPD and Multiple Sclerosis.

I told her - “get in your car with gloves on. Put your bags in the trunk. Get gas and throw away the gloves. Get back in your car and use hand sanitizer. Drive straight here without stopping and I’ll have the garage ready for you to strip. You’ll get directly into the shower and you’ll have some of my clothes waiting to change into. I’ll sanitize your work stuff and bring it in and leave your clothes outside in the suitcase for 24 hours and wash them then.”

Luckily she doesn’t think I’m too crazy.

My husband is still working outside of the home so honestly she’s probably safer coming in than he is.

I’m thankful she has a place to go. I feel so bad for the other tenants who don’t have any options.
