Ok, so day 2 of eggs and my baby got some redness around his mouth (which was mostly gone in 5 min, and totally gone in 15) so that wouldn't be an allergy, right? I mean, the rash would stay for a little bit at least....
He always gets red from a lot of contact with his skin that acts just like this did. I think it was from his hand and nails touching his mouth from self feeding.
Anyone have any experience with this or egg allergy in general?

Idk my daughter had an egg allergy and she always broke out right away but it would be gone in a few minutes initially. Over time it got worse and the rash would stay longer.
I would have him evaluated by an allergist. If you keep feeding him eggs and he is allergic it will only make the reaction worse the next time

My kiddo did that with eggs same thing rash on his face. Went away. He does not have a egg allergy he’s almost four now. It happened twice then never again

My son had this when he ate butter. Is it just where he gets it on his skin? Or is it eating it in general. Went away after a while. Now he doesn’t get it anymore. Could just be his skin getting use to a new food.

@two.tiny.texans, could also be because we cook eggs in oil or butter. Definitely worth mentioning to his dr. But probably not an allergy if it goes away within half an hour on its own.

Sounds like an egg allergy to me. Continued exposure will lead to long more sever reactions

My daughter ate eggs for two weeks with no reaction then had a random reaction around her mouth two days in a row. Her dr said it probably isn’t an allergy or sensitivity if it didn’t continue to happen.

My son had a egg and dairy allergy. When he ate eggs same thing happened around his mouth and it took anywhere from 5-20 mins to go away. Finally we got him tested and he indeed had a allergy to eggs and dairy. He has outgrown it now

My son barfed the first two times he had eggs. We tried again and he was fine. Ask your dr. That reaction doesn’t sound serious.

This happened with my little guy too. Only a handful of times and now he has no reaction. He even ate a food with no reaction and had a reaction a week later to the exact same thing. Egg allergies are strange. They never lasted more than a few minutes though. I started off giving him baked things occassionally with egg to build up the tolerance. He was always fine with those and can now eat plain scrambled egg no problem
