If i can recommend anything when you’re in labor... it’s to wait until your body tells you to push to start pushing. With Logan i pushed when the nurses told me to right when i got to 10 cm. I pushed for 45 min and tore. With Finley i pushed when i had to and he was out in 2 pushes, no tearing.

I waited til I felt the urge. It didn’t take many pushes but I still tore. But that’s because he was a very large baby.

Yeah I’d say it probably lessens the chances of tearing but people still do. Finley was 9.5 lbs

Yeah, it probably does. My son was a bit bigger than that & sunny side up. Came out with his fist balled up against his cheek.

Wow! Lucky you! I felt like I had less tearing with my second and she was 1 lbs heavier and just flew out, I think it took 3 pushes.

I pushed when I had to and tore everywhere.. wen I pushed wen the doc told me too I didn’t tear but needed an episiotomy and my first was bigger than my son

I had the epidural, and it was the craziest feeling ever when it was time for me to push, I felt like I had to take the biggest crap of my life, it took 6 good pushes and 10 mins and my little one was here. I had a second degree tear, but I’m tiny. I think it is different for everyone though.

I felt like i was gonna poop too!!! The pressure was unreal

right I was 10cm for almost 30 min. The doctor was like you will know when it is time to push. Sure enough we were all waiting then BOOM I was like “umm I feel like I have to poop” and the doctor was nope that is baby coming.

Yessssssss. Same. My first was 6lbs 14.5oz. I tore sooo bad. I pushed when they told me to, not when my body told me to. My 2nd child, my ob was amazing. She told me to push when my body told me too( it was incredibly obvious bc it would push without me trying). She told me when to keep going with a push, and when to stop. She used mineral oil on me. I didn't need even 1 stitch and he was 9lbs 14oz. I loved it
