Honestly, I don’t think it’s ever going to just “go away”. They’re never going to be able to get rid of every single case in every country. They can’t close off international travel forever. So really, even if the USA managed to stay at home in quarantine until every case was completely gone, all it would take is one traveler to bring it back. They’re going to have to have rapid response tests in every town, just like for flu and strep and they have got to find the right medicine to treat it successfully. I could be wrong, I’m definitely not a doctor or scientist but I see this becoming something like the flu, that will always be around. Right now, they don’t need to rush to open everything back up and send everyone out into the world. We’ve got to give them time to get the medicine available and enough tests available.
This is all about “let’s try to at least slow the spread so we don’t overwhelm the health care system especially when it’s already happening during flu season.” Several of your larger cities in the state you govern are shut down and you’re worried about the economy tanking more than the people of your state.
