I am not on a side here but I do recommend you dive into this a little deeper before making such claims. What I have read so far suggests that the Democratic Party is trying to make sure the bill is aimed more at the working people whereas the stimulus proposed by republicans was focusing a large part on big business. This does not mean they are voting no on your stimulus but that they are unhappy with the total allocation of funds. It stinks that both side havent come together yet but I think there’s a much bigger picture than “they voted not to give us money”.

Bills rarely pass the first go around. It’s read and tweaked multiple times before finally passed. It’s not just a Democrat or republican thing to do it’s a political thing both parties are guilty. We can just hope that what they are doing is for the good of the people not the good for their reputation.

If the Republicans would have negotiated with the Democrats in the first place when they were coming up with the plan, that would have been helpful.(wasn't bipartisan at all). Also not to mention that Mitch McConnell decided to take last weekend off and go back to Kentucky instead of starting to work on the stimulus package which wasted precious time. But hey Fox news still had hosts calling this whole pandemic a hoax at that point. So not a big deal right?

Also the Democrats voted no because they don't think that there were enough saftey precautions to insure that big businesses wouldn't just use their bailout to rebuy their own company's stocks and NOT ACTUALLY HELP their employees. Which is what they did with the last bailout. Democrats want to make sure that this stimulus package is more than just a few thousand dollars for the people and then ends up hurting everyone in the long run once this pandemic is over. For me personally I would love a stimulus check ASAP especially since my job has closed down, but I'm willing to wait a little bit longer, to insure that big businesses doesn't screw over their workers like they did last time.

I highly suggest that the original OP of this, check out multiple news sources and not just regurgitate what they hear from Fox news. I'm not just talking CNN here, check out BBC world news, Al Jazeera, or read some newspapers.

Man would I love one of those checks, but I don’t want it until they get it right over in DC. I’ve seen how Trumps so called tax plan has actually screwed people this tax season and that’s evidence enough for me to say let them fight til they get it right. The taxes were changed mostly to help the wealthiest 1% and big businesses. Poor and middle class people who depend on their returns to catch up every year aren’t getting them or it’s been slashed. My 66 year old single father of three kids only got 1/4 of what he’s been used to getting over the last five years. Homeowners who used to get a return are now owing thousands of dollars instead. Even those of us who are just middle class renters are still paying the IRS $10k instead of getting a return yet we paid $50k in taxes from our salaries already. Something is really really wrong with that. So congress and the senate can go at it until the cats can’t claw each other anymore as long as allocation of these funds is done to the American public in a fair way.

Please don’t get your information from a Facebook post, do more research from credible sources.

Yeah both you and the individual who posted this should research why the dem's had blocked the first proposal.
