These food restrictions should reflect family size 🙄 Saying everyone can only buy one dozen eggs, one loaf of bread, or one gallon of milk, or two boxes of pasta, etc. is fine for those who are single or maybe just have one or two kids. But we go through a gallon of milk a day, a dozen eggs a day, a loaf of bread in as little as two days sometimes. So basically, when we should be social distancing, I’m forced to go to the store every other day 😐 I’m going to have to start bringing disguises and going in multiple times or something lmao.

That is very true! My little family of 3 doesn't need nearly as much as yours. People need to be considerate and buy only what they need for a reasonable amount of time.

Lmao disguises 😂 get a few wigs to shop with. We also go through milk like crazy but not much of the other stuff.

I totally agree but maybe their fear is people lying about the family size. Maybe you can talk to a manager and show them a picture of your family?

Definitely worth a try. I’m okay with not being able to stock up, my husband has been temporarily laid off because of the virus so we can’t afford to anyway, but being able to buy at least a week a time would definitely help.

I’m sorry girl !! It’s cuz of those people who hoarded when they didn’t need to! They ruined it for everyone .

Our Publix put a limit on the amount of meat you can buy. Only 2 of anything. Like you get one ground beef and one pack of chicken and that’s it. But they were pretty much completely out of meat anyway, so it didn’t much matter.

We are a family of 4. Only 3 of us eat but we have been stocking up and I don’t feel bad about it at all . We have enough food in our house to last easily a month . Why would we only buy what we need when we can buy stock up and we won’t have to put our lives at risk . Plus I live in New York we are getting hit the worst and it’s only going to peak in the next few weeks so yeah I don’t feel bad at all for buying more than we necessarily need

@tribexofxfour, I may have exaggerated a little lmao.

@mama-exkzwl, a year supply is just nuts ! And who had the room for all that
hottsprinkles··
@mama-exkzwl, lmao I can’t imagine buying food for a year I mean we eat 300$ a week so just for a month is like 1,000$ I didn’t hoard anything but I always shop really big. It seems the real problem is the amount of people shopping at the same time I think 🤔

Right family of 6 1/2 here. Boys eat so much. And so do I pregnant 😂

Take your oldest with you and have her go through a separate checkout lane to buy the extras.

do you have any family around who wouldn’t need as much? maybe ask them to grab you an extra gallon and leave it on your porch and you’ll leave the money or pick it up off their porch and leave money. that is definitely frustrating though.. like you said, it should definitely be taking in a family size. a household with two people isn’t gonna meet the same requirements as a family of ten. the family of two are gonna be healthy as can be while that family of ten is gonna practically be starving.

I know it's not cheap but I use Amazon to deliver groceries, DoorDash for fresh/ready food and I've used curbside pick-up at Walmart.

Give your oldest money to checkout on their own behind you and they can’t argue. Tell the checker you have a bunch of kids.
