I know everyone is tired of these posts but I’m literally gonna cry and breakdown if we can’t get any meat soon :( we already struggling so what money we do spend on groceries monthly is what we have, basically! We can’t overspend etc... we’ve been to the store several times and several stores and we can’t get any meat. We’ve been buying stuff for the microwave and other things like sandwich meat, hotdogs,etc.) but the microwave food is literally killing us.. it’s so expensive.
I’ve seen some moms on here recommend online shopping at Walmart but do they do that at walmarts that aren’t super Walmart’s? We have a very small selection of groceries at our Walmart...

Wanted to add that when all this buying out stuff started we had no idea pretty much so we couldn’t run off to stores in time to get stuff. We have like a handful of diapers for DS (still isn’t fully potty trained) because everyone bought them out even now that there’s a limit on them

Is there an Aldi near you? They get a truck every morning and usually very well stocked. I went when they first opened last Thursday and was able to get chicken, ground beef and ribs.

Also try local farmers markets a lot of those will have meat as well

the closest one is 30 miles out. We have a Kroger about 15-20 miles I wonder if they do the same.

Do you have any butcher shops nearby? I buy all of our meat from our local butcher, they get in a shipment almost every day.

We do too. I’m going to the butcher one day this week for sure. It’s the best quality meat u can get

ours is also the cheapest place in town to get meat. All of our grocery stores are almost completely out of meat, but the butcher shop always has plenty. I think people forget about it.

For sure! I just need regular day to day groceries 😥. I was in the hospital giving birth the week before all this happened and when I got home all this happened so I didn’t have time to shop

Have you tried calling your local grocery store and asking them what days their meat shipment comes in? Then you could go super early on those days. I live in a small town with only a couple of grocery stores. Knowing when deliveries are made to the store has helped me be able to get there and get what I need. Just wanted to add that meat isn’t essential, you can get by without it if you have to. Just try to get protein in other ways for the time being. Good luck!

Thank you! I’ll call tomorrow. Small town also, we have two grocery stores and a small selection at Walmart. We’ve been going when we can to check. We even got toilet paper but no meat.

Definitely look into local farms and butchers. I actually just resorted to ordering some chicken and beef from Omaha steaks that will arrive on April 2 because I struck out the last couple of weeks with the supermarket and I have been using up my freezer stock quickly. I am trying to avoid going into a supermarket because I’m extra cautious right now being pregnant so I rely on pickup for my general groceries but that means I’m not getting to the things as soon as the store opens.

You can order directly from Purdue for chicken. They have a shipping delay, but it might be better knowing you’ve got something coming while you’re looking in the stores.

Looks like it's time to go vegetarian for the time being!!! The only thing I could think of this maybe traveling a little farther to other stores, a local butcher shop, Farmers Market

i’m sorry y’all are struggling girl, this shit all sucks so bad 🥺 i’m getting nervous for when the time comes that i’m actually out of something essential and can’t find it anywhere. hang in there love!! google some cheap meals to make maybe that don’t require meat or only uses the things you can find. honestly, if it gets that bad, literally ask people. just ask friends or family if there’s any chance they can find it by them somewhere and could grab you some or if they have some, would they be willing to let you have some? i know it would be my last resort, but if i’m completely out of something i would suck it up.
there’s also the option of googling meal options that don’t include meat and can still be cheap and feed your family. people live vegan and vegetarian so it CAN be done, just might not be everyone’s favorite option.
