Ok so moms with baby girls. Ava wont keep her hands away from her private part. She scratched it and now has a tiny cut. I talked to her dr and she said she is just exploring. But omg is there not anything I can do to get her to stop, I dont want her to keep cutting it down there.

Ugh my son does this all the time. As soon as his diaper comes off lol. Grabs it and giggles. Best thing to do is try and distract them. Dont shame them because it is natural.
Lol my daughter too she pulls on it everytime I take off her diaper and I smack her hand but gently and say Noo and she will stop
I see this when I'm taking her a bath. I just move her hand and distract her with toys or water.
We have had many of these phases. Hopefully it’s short lived. My dr said to just ignore it. My girl never cut herself though. I wouldn’t stop her exploring but try help her understand to be “gentle” or “easy”. At her age, maybe just distractions would be best.
I tell my daughter ouch don’t hurt yourself...gentle. If she doesn’t stop I say it again and gently lay my hand over her bits so she won’t pull at herself. She’s gotten a lot better.
@mrs.hibben Great Job 👍🏽 I tell mine “gentle gentle, that’s your peepee” and repeat with emphasis “gentle gentle” so then she pats it and stops touching it. We do the same with delicate flowers or babies, so it helps
Keep her nails super short and keep her in a onesie
