Idk if I'm over reacting but my oldest has her dad's complexion and my youngest has mine. Side by side it really shows. My oldest has her dads hair texture (hes mexican) and my youngest has mine (I'm mixed Indian and black). Their features are very obviously different. The one thing that's bothering me is that ppl keep saying "oh shes gonna get dark when she's older" (my youngest). Ok? So what? And then they'll say "but she will have the better hair". I HATE it but idk how to respond to it. Both of my girls are perfect and I don't want either of them to hear such things or think that the other one is better because she' lighter and she's darker or because of hair texture.

Ignore those ppl

I really try but it's kinda hurtful that's what ppl( family) are saying. That's how some ppl end up having low self esteem

it's wrong to say things about kids. No matter what your children are beautiful

@mamaxkat89 thank you❤

I would tell them they sound ridiculous and they better not let my kids here their nonsense. They're both beautiful in their own ways
N👼🏾💙A💕👧🏾A💕👧🏾··
That's what I worry about. Are they gonna say this to them anytime in my absence or even let it slip out and let them hear? Idc if it means nothing to them but pls do not compare my girls that way
Mandy··
people don't realize what they're saying and how it can be implied if a child was to hear it in these situations
N👼🏾💙A💕👧🏾A💕👧🏾··
exactly!
What's It To You?·
Just tell them it's disrespectful to speak such way about an individual and you'd like them to respect your wishes and not do that with your children because regardless of their appearance they are beautiful.

@lucky18, I’d stop sending pictures. They’ve already proven not worthy. Don’t serve them more fuel on a silver platter.
Fuck that! I’d be pissed. I had to put people in their place for saying my daughter’s going to get dark in the sun or saying “good thing she didn’t come out as dark as her dad” like who the fuck do people think they are?! 🤯
Excuse my language
N👼🏾💙A💕👧🏾A💕👧🏾··
disgusting! Now I'll have to give ppl a warning before they meet her and say something stupid. Another hurtful thing is this is a real problem among girls of color so why put that in a child's head so young😡
🪴📚··
I would say exactly this to them. I’ve had to tell people that. My daughter is half black and half spanish and I heard that a lot when she was younger. Someone even had the nerve to ask me if I was her nanny. I was so upset. I don’t think you’re overreacting.

Oh girl my daughter looks jst like her dad n my son looks nothing like him
N I always get asked “ are u sure that’s his dad too” I’m like wtf 😒 the ignorance jst Bkz they look different Dnt mean they Dnt have the same dad

That's rude! Ppl need to think before they open their mouth to speak. Words can hurt

I get this a lot with people! They call my youngest uglier than her older sister because of skin complexion, eyes and hair. Pisses me off!! Honestly fuck them! You know your daughters are beautiful anyway. And if it’s family members, speak up. Let them know that’s not acceptable to say because they’ll get comfortable saying it as the kids get older to their faces.
Dontspankme··
@lucky18, yeah I get it at first you’re caught off guard and can’t really respond because you didn’t process the crap they spoke. And wish you would’ve spoken up. But there’s always a next time especially if they want to be around you and the kids ever again. I try to keep my kids away from toxic people and family members as much as I can anyway.

I did bother me after that I didnt speak up for her and it has me thinking how she'll feel if someone ever say these things to her
China··
That's too far! Calling my kid ugly? Nope.

I don't think you're overreacting. People always just feeling the need to say things that aren't there place. My sister had four boys the oldest has a different father and my oldest nephew has a very pale complexion. Her three youngest have the same dad the first had a pale complexion with red hair, the 2nd has a medium complexion/ pale and the youngest has a darker Olive complexion yet those three had the same father. We all inherit something different from somewhere in the family. Just because they're siblings doesn't mean they have to look alike.
N👼🏾💙A💕👧🏾A💕👧🏾··
Exactly! Ppl just say whatever come to their mouth without regard of who's listening. I know they're still very young and don't understand but that's the last thing I want anyone saying to them.
cantdeletebutimgone··
I'm sure you'll find a way to help them through it

These are my boys. How about some woman just asked my husband if my son was his.....people are ignorant. Ignore them. You educate your children about all they have in them.
N👼🏾💙A💕👧🏾A💕👧🏾··
I can't believe ppl are brave enough to ask that question. It's just plain rude. Your boys are handsome!
China··
Thanks. I couldn't believe it myself. My oldest is my husband's twin. They just have different complexions. My little one is my twin but I am also a darker complexion than they are.
