Would it be selfish for me to tie my tubes? I'm turning 24 and my 4 year old is from my past relationship... my 2 year old and newborn are currently from my marriage... hubby says within a few years he wants to try for a girl but I'm just DONE and I doubt I'll ever have a girl and he almost breaks into tears when I tell him I'm done having kids... hes a wonderful father he does everything I tell him to but I just dont want no more

I feel it’s your decision I don’t think it’s selfish but probably need to explain that you seriously don’t want kids

I don't blame you for feeling how you do, but I would personally wait and see. You're still really young and you never know how you may feel in a few years.
I feel like I may want one more in the future and my husband feels like he is done. We made the decision to wait a couple of years (a year or so ago) and come back to if. If we really feel done, then he will get a vasectomy and if not, then we will try when we're ready. I didn't feel comfortable 100% closing to door to the option when the future could change.

If you have to come ask us your clearly not a 100 percent certain yourself and I'd just use other forms of protection. It's a huge decision alot of people seem to regret.

It’s not YOUR decision alone. Think of it this way. Would you be happy if he got a vasectomy after you told him you want more children? You all need to have a serious conversation and find out of this is one of those things that are make or break for him...like will he feel fulfilled/content if he doesn’t have anymore kids?

I don't think its selfish if your sure your done and don't want anymore. I got mine done and i don't regret a thing. My youngest is almost 2 now. I got a almost 18 yr old step daughter and a son. I just see a lot of people be like man i want another i regret this. Ive always felt what i have is enough. Im 31 lol. If for some reason you have doubt I'd use BC for awhile and come back to the decision at a later time.

It's your choice. Even if you decide you do want a girl in the future like you said it could just be another boy. Even with tubes tied tou can do (I forgot what its called) but ivf whither gender select and wouldnt even have to untie tubes for that. Or there are plenty of little girls with no parents in foster care that would love a good home of you dont wanna go through pregnancy.
