Schools are ideal environments for illnesses and viruses to spread rapidly. There are hundreds or thousands of people packed into one building, many of whom have poor hygiene habits. Things spread like wildfire then get taken home and spread throughout the community.

meh I read it and again seems like blowing it out of proportion just my opinion I get it like I said but travel ban should have be set in place first. We have had 1 death just one. Most people who have gotten it recovered asap at home and haven't needed a hospital stay just like to add that. I take what the media says with a grain of salt because it's not like we haven't been here before there was no school closures with Sars which killed way more people in Canada

@maryfnpoppinsbitch Apples to oranges. SARS had a higher mortality rate but this one is already infecting more people so numbers will rise. SARS was transmitted by people with symptoms. This can be transmitted without. While kids are not likely to have severe issues with covid they could be excellent unwitting vectors without anyone even realizing it. I think it’s very smart to take steps as early as possible to slow the spread. Hopefully Canada doesn’t get hit hard thanks to aggressive prevention measures.
