After some advice about bed wetting. I've mentioned before about Morgan's bed wetting. We resorted back to pull ups a while ago because even after waking & taking him & stopping fluids after a certain time he was still wetting the bed 2-3 times a night. He's still leaking through his pull up & has now started having little accidents during the day. He can't tell me why just says he doesnt realise he's done it. Is it worth consulting a doctor who may refer us to someone for advice things we could try I'm maybe just missing. Or are they likely to tell me he'll just grow out of it? I'm at a loss & have also not fully tackled it with Max either because he also still has a full pull up by morning. What am I doing wrong??

I have no actual advice, my lo is nearly 3, is a devil in disguise and the potty doesn't exist to him although I've had many attempts. But I just wanted to say your not doing nothing wrong, your a brilliant mummy give yourself some credit women!

I'm sure other mummy's on here will be able to offer advice. X

Thank you. Don't feel it right now though. It took nearly a year to toilet train Morgan. He wasnt ready at 3yrs but he had to be in pants to be in the preschool. I was expecting night time to be a challenge. He hates wearing pull ups & got a bit upset about the day wetting becasue he said he knows big boys don't have wet accidents. I felt awful for him. Just not sure what else to try 🤷‍♀️

I think in all honesty it is hormonal I’m sure I read that somewhere xx

You can ask for a referral to the incontinence nurse or enuresis clinic. They'll want you to do some crazy stuff like you have to weigh his pull up before and after and monitor how much fluid he drinks and how much he passes. It'll be used to gauge whether he is completely emptying his bladder and if he is then they'll start to check the hormone levels.

Don’t worry about night time, my 7yo still isn’t dry at night, he’s 8 in April. He has been referred to the clinic, I’ve filled all the forms in, done a flow chart and weighed his nappies, but not heard back yet and done it all before Christmas. Think it’s 7yrs they have to be to refer them here. Gotta wait for the hormone to kick in before they can be dry at night and it just takes some kids longer. One of my nephews was 11 before he was dry at night! X

Yeh I wondered if there was a certain age they'd leave it to. I kind of expect it to go on a while which is why we resorted back to pull ups but now he's started having the odd accident during the day & I don't know why. Is it behavoural or physical. Can he not help it 🤷‍♀️ He said he doesnt wanna wear the pull ups so I've said we could try again without them but he's wet before I've even gone to bed at 10/11. I had to change him last night before I went to bed then he''d soaked through another pull up by morning. So even with a pull up I'm changing his clothes and bedding.

mine also wets through pull ups, so I just use 6+ nappies which seem to work better. I wouldn’t worry about the odd accident in the day just yet either, sometimes they just get so busy and engaged in a task that they either forget to go to the toilet/ don’t wanna stop what they’re doing to go/ or try and keep it in till they are desperate, incase they miss anything 🙈 x
