Okay. How do I tell my in laws that I don’t want them flying down to come see the baby right away WITHOUT hurting their feelings??? I don’t like the fact that they’ll be flying nor do I like the fact that they’re coming from a place with confirmed coronavirus cases. Or am I totally overreacting?

Be truthful, it is the season of sickness. They should understand.

@mommaofjais right, BUT! Like you said, new little human in the world, you have every right to be concerned on this matter! They need to respect that.
ᗪ··
@_thexruralxqueen_, Right, exactly. I guess I was just looking for confirmation that I wasn’t overreacting lol

@mommaofjais yep, your good, no overeating, all motherly instincts! ♡

What ^she^ said.
Tell them with everything going on right now that you would just feel a lot more comfortable with them waiting until your little isn’t brand spankin’ new. If they don’t understand than I would have to politely tell them to not come at all, then. I hope they are considerate of your judgement as the mom.
ᗪ··
Right. I feel like they’ll take it well but it stresses me out haha
Lindsey··
@mommaofjais, don’t let it stress you, girl. You’re being a momma Bear & protecting that little nugget. What you say goes! Good luck, babe!! You’ve got this. ❤️❤️

Thank you so much!!

Not over reacting
I'd nicely just say it and explain od ask you husband too
ᗪ··
I’m definitely trying to get him on board with the decision. He wants me to wait until closer to my due date to say anything bc a lot can change from now until I have her. I don’t mind waiting but I don’t think I’ll change my mind on my decision. If i was having her during flu season, I’d be feeling the same way 🤷🏻♀️

definitely not over reacting at all. you have every reason to feel that way right now & your being safe. i would feel the same way. it’s not your fault this outbreak happened so it’s not your fault you gotta disappoint people to keep your family safe.
ᗪ··
Right! That’s exactly how I feel about it. It would be nice if it all could just disappear by the time I have her but I don’t see that happening.

@mommaofjais, ugh i feel you!! i’m hoping it’s over before summer cause i feel like if it’s not, summer is gonna really suck cause i’m not going all over the place to public spots where one of us could get sick. there’s already 6 cases confirmed here so by summer how many more will be here?? i won’t be able to leave & do anything at that point. my daughters birthday party has me worried im gonna have to cancel it 😔
ᗪ··
What state are you in? It hasn’t hit us yet but it’s only a matter of time. If hot weather does stop it, we should be all good though bc it starts getting hot enough to swim around the end of April.

I told my hole family to stay away for a month 🤣 no one came by until my sons birthday and alot didnt show up because i told them if anyones sick or even feeling slightly ill to stay tf away since i have a newborn and my dad, who visits alot, is on chemo and i dont want to be stuck not having company for 2 weeks. 🤷♀️ everyone was very polite about it and we have uptight "its my right" family on both sides.
ᗪ··
That’s definitely reassuring. I’m glad they were all respectful!

The shittiest part of having children is - obligation - especially the fear of it. It makes you anxious and over think whether you’re doing the right thing or not. But the only person you’re obligated to is your children and your husband. Nobody else.
That means nobody’s feelings come before the safety of you and your family. Bottom line. Hurt feelings or not, this isn’t about them. It’s about the safety of the baby.

Yes! I 100% feel the same way.
