My 2 yo has been in daycare for literally 1 week, and came home sick Friday afternoon. He hasn’t been sick in almost a year! I remember when he was 1 and I put him in daycare he was like perpetually sick, and had an almost permanent runny nose/cough. My SO is re thinking the daycare situation and now says he will keep both kiddos at home when I go back to work and we will switch off when he goes to work in the afternoon. It will save us some money and save the kiddos from catching so many different bugs but I hate that he will miss all the learning activities ! Maybe I will just make a plan to teach him things at home when I get off work 🤔 Hmm idk what to do...

Germs are hard to avoid. When you expose them it’s supposed to strengthen their immune system. Even if you guys decide to avoid daycares now, eventually the same thing will happen when they start school. I swear my son catches everything. He was sick like every other week in pre k and kindergarten. Right now he is home bound for school and his teacher comes to us, he has still managed to get sick.

Have him still take him to local play groups that way he gets social contact and activities with peers but slightly limits the germ exposure. But like pp said germs are apart of life and it's better to boost his immune system now so he has a higher tolerance when he starts school and participation is really critical

Pretty normal for when kids are around a bunch of other kids. It should slow down in a few months. Once his immune system is built up, he will almost never get sick.
