Question. My baby has thrush. Her dr gave her oral meds. It says to Swish in the mouth and swallow. Well she can’t do that so I’ve been putting on a glove and putting some on there and I rub it around as good as I can and then I give her the rest mixed in with some of her milk in the nipple so it’s a small amount I know she is taking. Am I doing this wrong? Also someone told me to throw out the bottle nipples every feed. Is that necessary? Her thrush isn’t very bad but I don’t want it to get to that point.

I would also give her yogurt. That helps as well.

You need to sterilize all the bottle parts between uses.

And for spitting all the meds out, you can administer the it using a sponge like these. My friend had to use them when her son was as in the nicu and I was super impressed bc when mine had thrust, I didn’t know about the sponges and they were a game changer.

Yeah i just rubbed a tiny bit in his mouth everywhere and called it a day, i did it after feedings so it would stay put for 2h and i only did it once a day because he got really gassy from the meds 😂 i DO NOT suggest doing this. Im saying whst happened with my experience, i never had to get him to swallow any they actually preferred they spit it out. 🤔
