Dumb question alert. So it LO (2, boy) has a fungal infection down below and I'm stressing that I haven't been cleaning him properly. How are you supposed to thoroughly clean boys bits? He giggles and wriggles into a ball if I get too hands on

Yeah there’s nothing special u have to do to clean a boy, just wipe with a sponge/flannel, Just like cleaning a finger really x

Nothing, when changing nappies I just wipe over with a wet wipe and then when they have a bath they have bubble bath in the water and they soak in it for a while. Never had any problems. There should be no thorough cleaning down below.

Thanks all, good to know I'm doing exactly what you've all said. I dont know why he he has an infection but the dr asked if I could pull his skin back and I just panicked that I should've been doing that already which I haven't and thought I'd read you shouldnt yet xx

Foreskin naturally retracts as boys get older. It can happen anywhere from 5 years old to teenage years. Definitely don’t do that, it’ll cause him loads of pain and leave him open for infection.

When you think of it this way, a nappy is wet and often can be hot.. and he ca sweat so wearing a nappy alone can cause fungal infections hun! Nothing to do with how you’ve been cleaning him etc xx

thanks I did think its most likely just because it's a hot bed for bacteria to spawn!
