Have any of you ladies switched to a midwife towards the end of your pregnancy? If so, will they allow you to deliver at home? I really don’t want to deliver in a hospital. My husband isn’t really on board with me doing it this way due to my pregnancy being high risk but I can’t shake this awful feeling I have. Will insurance cover a midwife?

Why not a hospital? I’m just curious. Is it cause there’s so much sickness there? Cause that’s a huge concern whenever going on to the Hospital to visit someone ya know? It’s scary. Why are u high Risk? Like what’s going on? If it’s because of yours of the baby’s health I’d be scared to deliver at home. I hope u two can get on the same page. I mean u def wanna be comfortable when laboring and delivery!! Weigh the pros and cons. Maybe write out a list with your dh maybe seeing the pros and cons on paper will help with the decision

If I remember right, a midwife won't take you if you're high risk. My midwife delivered my daughter at the hospital but wouldn't with my son.. You'd have to find one who delivers at your home if thats the route you want but again, they usually don't do high risk due to complications and emergencies. There's birthing centers that midwives to deliver at too but again, they won't take high-risk as it could be too dangerous. I hope you find relief soon!
Maybe take a tour of the hospital and rooms, nursery ECT if you havent delivered there! It may ease your mind ❤

Thanks for the info ladies. I appreciate it. I guess I’ll just stick to the original plan that we had. I’ve been wanting to do a home birth for years but it’s never happened and this is def my last baby. With all this crap going around the last thing I want is to deliver her in a hospital.
