Got almost a $5 raise but made no difference in my paycheck because i increased my 401k contribution to almost double of what i previously had 😂 Decided why not since the company matches our contribution.

Smart. I always increased my contribution when my pay increased. My future self will thank me.

See you are smart for doing that!!! i never did that, i had an automatic increase for 1% every year i worked for my company. LOL wasted so much time i could have saved more, but i was young and wanted my $$$ 😂 guess since im turning 30, i cant stop thinking about my future and my kids’s future now.

That is awesome that your employer matches your contribution! Mine does too, and thanks to that, I’ve got a great nest egg building for retirement. I’m old, so I only have about 20 years left of working (I hope to retire just a smidge early, like 64). But I’m feeling confident about my retirement funds 😊 Good for you for thinking ahead like this!
