So my husband was on a conference call today with his company and they were talking about how they are preparing to close doors IF this virus spreads. Specifically California, Washington, and the Oregon coasts.
Specifically to keep staff safe.
With that said, you don’t have to be afraid of the virus or anything but be prepared for your stores to be a madhouse.
People are going to loose it and finding items like bread, water, formula, toilet paper, ect will be extremely difficult.
If you live in an area that may eventually have an outbreak (costal or large cities, especially), go stock up now.
You’ll be happy you did if your city issues an emergency and all you need are basics.
I just went to Walmart to stock up on detergent, formula, toilet paper, bread (for the freezer), paper towels, and diapers and this was what a lot of the shelves look like. This is the Lysol area.

People are already losing it here. 😕 We are preparing on how to deliver instruction to our students remotely, if it comes to that. We sent a very bland, very basic flyer home to our families and people have called freaking tf out. I haven’t been to the stores since this past weekend but apparently the shelves are more empty than usual. But then again, our usual for store shelves is 3/4 empty lol.

We’ve gotten a flyer like that from my kids school as well and they will excuse any sick kids for a certain amount of days without discipline. Just as a precaution. It’s not as terrifying as people are making it out to be.

I feel okay bc we have a decent emergency stash for earthquakes. I have a good three weeks of food & supplies, but I get anxious that I need more. 😅

I'm in Australia and people have already lost it over here. We have an abundance of toilet paper but it's being cleared out as soon as it arrives every morning, there's no pasta, rice, UHT milk ( shelf milk) hand soap/ sanitizer. Basically the only thing that is not being touched is fresh produce. It's absolute madness!!!

@jennatess yeah, I kinda feel like I need to join the crazies. My mum and I found toilet paper at the $2 store today, it's not the best but it'll do for desperate times 😂 we've got a lot of pasta, rice and canned goods stored in our cupboard anyway thank God but I guess it couldn't hurt to get more. I'm more worried about nappies and formula! I'm just worried about our countries being locked down like China has been if things get worse over the coming weeks! My son has open heart surgery on the 16th too and I'm freaking out about having to go to and stay at the hospital. There's cases in the womans hospital and emergency that's right next door to the children's hospital we will be at. 😱😬

I have a friend who works in China often. He came back a solid month ago now, and was tested and just fine, but he said he was offered five thousand dollars for his flight ticket!!

I hope so! I'm trying to stay positive. Hopefully everything is all good, its stressful enough without having to worry about that as well.
And omg! That's crazy! $5000 😱 I can imagine how desperate some people would be to get out of there. The whole situation is crazy!

I'm in PA and people are buying all the hand sanitizer and lysol. My mother in law works for Walmart and she said there's tons of people coming in pissed because the stores completely sold out, even the travel size bottles. She said the next shipment won't be in until the 13th.
