I just bought this for my 4 year old but I still have her convertible car seat that turns into a booster seat. This one doesn’t seem as safe to me as the other one. Wanted to get some opinions from you moms?
At 4 she should still be in a 5 point harness, not the regular seat belt. If the convertible seat isn’t comfortable for her then buy her a high back booster with harness. That’s what I’m using for my 5 year old. Once she’s big enough I can convert it to a high back with the regular belt and then after that a backless booster. She probably won’t use the backless booster til she’s like 8 though. You might as well return it.
Okay thank you so much.My step-dad was like buy this for her so I did and as I’m buying it I’m thinking to myself why do they make these they don’t even seem safe lol
@naenae, well in the old days kids were using the backless booster much earlier so he probably just doesn’t know about the newer car seat laws. My mom is always questioning me but I tell her things have changed and I’m doing what is the safest for my kids.
We use to have that one for my daughter and she is super tall and she got cramped and uncomfortable so we just got her a new safety first seat. But last night we bought her a new baby trend one that is a convertible.
@thawkins, this ones an old picture we’ve turned it into a booster seat so the extra padding is out and the straps are tucked behind the seat and she uses the regular seat belt in the car
My daughter will be four next month and I definitely would never put her in that. My motto is five point harness for as long as possible! So yes, definitely keep her in your convertible one or one that has a five point harness. 🤗
