Question about taxes. I know we all hate these. Is filing with a CPA or online through like turbo tax or something similar better? We have always gone through my husband’s uncle who is a cpa but he passed away last year so now we are trying to figure this stuff out. And also how much does it cost usually? I am so sorry about asking this. But I k ow you ladies would know! 😊

I used turbo tax for the first time this year and I’m never using a cpa again. We filed and got our refund back in 2 weeks. Turbo tax is free if you just have basic things to file. I had forms for school and student loans so I had to pay an extra $40 for state and another $40 for federal in order to get my full refund for those forms. But with the cpa I was paying $250 and my refunds were half of what I got with turbo tax.

I was thinking of using turbo tax! They are saying $300-550 for us to file with a cpa because my husband did stocks and took a loss on them. So you got more with turbo tax then a cpa? It’s all so new to me since we’ve always used a cpa.

We use a CPA. He’s great and helps us understand our taxes.
I’m to afraid to do it myself and mess up so I leave it to the professionals.
