Okay. My daughter is fully potty trained. She has been going pee on the toilet since she was 1.5. Fully night & day trained since she was 2. I want to start her in daycare, but they say that they have to be fully independent in the bathroom. I've tried to get her to wipe herself but she literally just sticks the toilet paper down between her legs and doesn't wipe. How to I teach her? And how can I get her to wipe her own butt? The booty calls get old lol

That’s lazy it’s daycare job to the potty training and taking kids to the bathroom !! I’m a daycare teacher of infants and toddlers and my babygirls go to work with me everyday I work with my 1 yr old in the infant room but my 3 yr old is in the toddler room and they take them to the bathroom every 2 hrs more for the ones who really need to go more . Some sit on the toilet some sit on the potty’s but they wipe them and help them wash they’re hands . They also make sure they go before they eat and sleep because kids using the bathroom outside of home comfort isn’t the same and that’s when accidents start . Potty trained there . I’ve heard of not being able to start kindergarten if your not completely independent but not for daycare smh

Its more like a early preschool thing not an actual daycare center. But my MIL and I are the ones who did the training, she just never got the whole wiping thing down once we started started that part of it.

For daycare or pre school? In day care it’s their job to help if it’s needed in the bathroom. If it was pre school then yes absolutely

@fakefruitlookingforyou It's more like an early preschool than a daycare. They do have daycare in the same building, but wanted to get her into the preschool part of it more than the daycare part. My mil and I are the ones who trained her, she just never caught on to the wiping aspect of it.

Try starting with flushable wipes, put it in her hand, and with your hand, guide hers so she is still doing the wiping, then go from there and make a big deal when she does wipe. The flushable wipes are much more friendly than toilet paper at first.
