For anyone that has OT for their littles, did you need to get a referral through your pediatrician first? TJ doesn’t roll and is showing no signs of crawling, but will sit when placed so pediatrician doesn’t want to send him, but I went him evaluated
My boyfriend hasn’t changed ONE diaper ever and my son is 9 months old. He hasn’t fed him in about 5 months, he doesn’t bath him and hes never been left alone with him and he doesn’t even wake up during the night to help with him. He MAYBE washes the bottles at night if it’s a good day and I’m confused as to how bc I’m a woman IM supposed to do all that by myself?? lmfao ya no.

Without any judgement... can someone remind me what fever temp is mandatory to go to the ER or pediatrician. Bellamy’s pediatrician is extremely old school, so when I called for advice to help bring his fever down and told him it was 100.3, he completely freaked out and told me to bring him in.😣 Just when I thought I was doing everything right, I find out I can’t even tell the difference between a low or high grade fever. 🤦🏻 ♀ stupid Mia.🙃
Why does my child think she can keep pushing her baby brother over, he just wants to always play with her and if she doesn’t want him to she doesn’t think and just pushes him over all the time, I feel for him the poor thing, is this a phase or life 😩🙈

Hes still got another mont or two before a doctor will worry about crawling. My son didnt start till he was 10 months old and even then he opted to shuffle around on his knees instead. Some kids skip crawling entirely. He never wanted to roll either. He was a late walker too at 16 months. Some kids just have no interest or start later than others, thats why doctors like to wait it out.

In New York i didn’t need a referral i just got him evaluated from a early childhood place . But in Florida a doctors referral was needed so he is getting what he needs bc the doctor agreed he should get .

Yes, you need a referral. If they doctor isnt concerned, let it be for now, or get a second opinion, but given his age, I'd say it's not something to worry about right now.

It depends on the state. Call early intervention in the state you live in and ask if you can do a self referral for occupational therapy.

I referred my own child to Early Intervention because I wasn't willing to wait for my doctor to refer us. You absolutely do not need a doctor's referral for Early Intervention if the child is under 3 years old.
EI came out and evaluated my daughter and if she showed to be behind in any area by at least 30% she qualified for services.
Early Intervention was seriously one of the best things I ever did for my kid

Yea u can go through the county. Early intervention is what it’s called here. They will come to your house do a full evaluation and see if he needs therapy. It’s a great program for those who qualify

For early intervention through the state, you do not need a referral. Call your local health department and ask about early intervention, they will come to your home and do the therapy.
For a therapy facility, I did need a doctor to refer mine to them. And the therapy is based on the evaluation the therapists deem appropriate and how many hours of therapy is recommended a week.
