Ok ladies I'm officially freaking out. We move in 11 days!! 😱
I feel like we're doing good so far. My bf was fired after putting in his notice 🙄 so, although lack of funds is stressful he's been able to get a lot done 💪🏻
Im racking my brain though bc I feel like I'm missing so much 🤦🏼♀️ We're moving about 8 hours away with very limited help during the moving process.
I'm so tired and stressed and zero time for packing and sorting this out. Please help me out with some tips for moving. What you did to make it smoother? Something you wish someone would be told you? Maybe something you forgot about?
This is mid semester for me and I'm working full time until the day before moving trucks come. We have a 2.5 year old and 2 cats 😬

Just make sure when packing up your house u go through everything and clean it. I know u said time is limited but there’s no use in taking old dirt and dust to a new place ya know? I had several weeks/months before moving so I was really able to go through everything and purge a lot of stuff we didn’t use. Stuff has a way of accumulating right lol. I assume you’re driving to the new place? How are the pets in the car for that long? Maybe check with the vet to get some sort of tranquilizer for the pets if they will be in distress in the car for that long. Do u have a moving company to go the heavy lifting?

....never thought about cleaning before the move but gosh you're so right! We've definitely been purging as we go along. I'm nervous about the cats. One is just fine but has only taken 30 min rides or under an hour. The other one hates the car. I just put this on my list to call the vet. They're older also, this whole move would be stressful for them.

yes def clean while packing. Just wipe everything down if possible. I helped my mil move ans she didn’t clean anything it’s a huge pet peeve for me lol. Like why take that dust and dirt to a new place!! Drove me nuts. She’s a messy person as is and I couldn’t believe what she was throwing into boxes. Everything was dusty like come on now!! Purging made me feel so good haha. Def ask the vet about some sort of mild tranquilizer for the ride. It’s def going to be stressful for them being in the car so long! Acepromazine is a good safe med maybe see if your vet will give u a few pills for the cats. Good luck

If you're going that far away pack an overnight bag with essentials in the car for everyone in the family. You just never know what will happen. Also pack what you'll need when you first get there last in the moving truck so it'll be off the truck first. Maybe like beds and clothes.
