I was Ellia's age when my family moved to the jungles of Papua New Guinea. My early childhood memories are rooted in that tiny village nestled in the highlands surrounded by the happiest people I've ever met in my life. I often miss the simplicity of our lifestyle there and will always feel a draw back to my second home, but for now it makes me happy to see the girls carrying a bilum (bag) a friend made for us while Thad and I were visiting a few years ago.
