How do y’all deal with picky eaters. My 1yr old is extremely picky and sometimes doesn’t eat. I’m so lost at what to feed him
@ryan_isaac_mom14, yes ma'am! Good luck girl! I used to get SO stressed over it, like BOTH of us would end up cryin every freakin meal time. Once I stopped tryin to force him to eat and took a more "meh...I'm gonna set this out, you feel free to graze" kinda approach, things have been MUCH easier on both of us. I think he feels more in control of the what and when, makin him less stubborn and more likely to grab somethin new if it's just sittin out and HIS idea! Lol!
Also, I think running for evaluations is a little much.....he's ONE. They're JUST starting to figure it out, it's ALL TOTALLY new. New textures, tastes, smells, sensations.....it takes a minute to find their groove! There's NOTHIN wrong with that baby! He's tryin new things while pushin his boundries.... what a normal 1 year old would do. Of course he'll push to see what he can get away with (i.e. refusing, throwing, or playing with food, or fussin til you give him somethin else), the WHOLE thing is a learning process. Just keep offerin Mama.
Thank you so much 😊. My five year old was a little picky at 1 too. But my 1yr old is really really picky
@ryan_isaac_mom14, I TOTALLY understand Mama. Our pedi told us that he would NOT let himself starve! He was right. Lol! He said just keep offering, keep offering, keep offering. He'll get it girl! You could try the pediasure for extra protein/vitamins and all that good stuff. Or breast milk, if you have any stashed still. That's ALWAYS good for em and he can have it in a sippy.
Mine still drinks a Pediasure a day to TRY an offset at least SOME. Mine is SO picky. SO. DAMN. PICKY.
Have you had him evaluated by an occupational therapist? He may have a sensory issue with certain foods
They eat what we eat or not at all I’m not gonna cater to that they won’t starve once you start that they will always do it
Well he’s barely 1 lol. And we try to feed him what we eat but he doesn’t eat
@ryan_isaac_mom14, they will eat when there ready I suppose you could always try a plate with several selections like a little crackers cheese fruit etc maybe some jello or pudding I didn’t know he’s that small lol there just kinda figuring it out
ALWAYS offer the food before the milk/pediasure or whatever he's havin so he's not gettin his tiny tummy full on just milk.
