Did you try filing for FMLA for additional time? It’s not paid but you’d be covered for the time off and your job is protected.

In Wa it's 16 weeks with pay. They just changed it at the beginning of the year.

Yeah the US has one of the worst maternity leaves. With my first I had to go back to work at 3 weeks postpartum. It was hell. Thankfully this time they gave me 6 weeks. But even then 6 weeks is no where near enough.
