My oldest is showing interest in learning how to tell time. How should i go about teaching him? I find it to be confusing to teach that 1 means 5 minutes, 2 means 10 minutes, etc.

Start with just the hour . Then work into minutes . That’s how my daughter learned . And they’ve got TONS of different kinda toys and stuff to help as well 😊 maybe even check out if they’ve got some cool apps or something also !

that’s awesome!! My oldest didn’t even really learn time until like last year .. she had an idea but still couldn’t really get it and even now it takes her some time to look at it and tell what time it is . Digital clocks are obviously simple for her but that’s it . My middle daughter can’t really at all . She can tell what the numbers are that’s being pointed to and what number is on the digital clock as far as hour goes, but that’s it .

Like @coffeebean said, start with hours and then half hours. It takes a while for.them to learn well and there are free printable worksheets on the internet. :)
