All the stray cats in the world and I can't even get one 😩 I've tired all the local shelters and they keep saying my application was declined due to my stupid land lords rules that cats must be declawed. 😭😭😭 (I don't agree with declawing at all. I've owned a declawed cat in the past I took in and she did just fine though.)

Part of me gets why they do this, because declawing cats is absolutely horrible. But the other part of me thinks it's kind of stupid because not everyone is going to follow their landlord's rules lol. 🤷🏻♀️

100% honestly I was thinking about buying those kitty caps because my land lord never comes here anyways 😩 but since it's a big apt place they've delt with them before and know their rules plus they call the land lord to get permission.

I've been looking. I haven't found one yet. I got a cat from them in the past when my aunt used to work there and she was declawed because back then the shelter used to declaw them to adopt them out faster. But they got a new owner since then. But honestly I really wouldn't declaw the poor kitty anyways. I'm just trying to adopt rather then buy from back yard breeder.

yeah I wouldn't declaw a cat either, and good for you for wanting to adopt. (I always adopt as well)
What I'm saying is that people surrender their cats everyday. Perhaps you can talk to the shelter and ask them if they will contact you when a declawed cat comes into their care. Or if it was me, I would be kinda annoying and call every week to check myself.

Declawing is so so cruel, so I understand why the shelter would take that stance against people renting from your landlord.

There’s this adorable cat in my neighborhood who’s so loving I wish I could take him in my son is severely allergic to cats. I’ve asked everyone and their mother if they want to adopt him and no one does. He’s such a loving cat who just wants cuddles 😭😭. Your doing an awesome thing on adopting a cat. Adopting is great.

Thank you! My daughter is obsessed with cats 😻 and I am too lol we never had a family pet. Last time I had a pet was way before I got with hubby 6 almost 7 years ago. Now that our daughters are a little older we figured it was time to adopt another baby 💕🐈

Have you tried pet stores? They usually have adoption specials occasionally. I saw a declawed cat in there once. We have sooo many cats the shelter sends them to the pet store then they adopt it out. There's a new cat each month.

They have an adoption fair at our local petsmart (always makes me sad seeing them all outside in cages that close to a parking lot)

One called pet supplies has a newcat every month from the shelter
