Anyone else have horrible sleep issues? I have had lucid dreaming, and sleep paralysis a few times now but early hours of this morning I had what Ican only describe as stroke feelings, my ears felt full, I couldn’t move properly and it felt like one side of my face was dragging downwards I was trying to shout out for help but words weren’t coming out properly I could actually hear myself do this like I was half asleep half awake but was aware of how I was feeling if that makes any sense at all. It’s scared me now , I am fine in myself none of those symptoms are present now just not sure what the hell is going on with me! I have been stressed recently and my anxiety is at a peak so hoping it’s that and it won’t happen again. Anyone had this?

My partner has had sleep paralysis a few times where he says he thinks hes awake but cant move and cant talk or shout out....hes never described anything else

It’s the most horrible feeling maybe it was paralysis just different to the times I’ve had it in the past it’s scared me not looking forward to tonight!x

It could've been an anxiety attack. I've had them many times before and it's exactly how you described it! All symptoms were stroke symptoms. Something very heavy holding me down and one side of my body going completely numb and floppy. Couldn't make any sound and I couldn't hear anything.
I had one once at the hospital and they said it's an anxiety attack because they too thought it was a stroke and rushed in with ctg monitors!

That’s a relief to hear although sorry you also experienced something so terrifying! I have been really anxious so it does all make sense I get similar symptoms when I have a bad migraine attack too and I get so scared incase any of this does turn into a real stroke which sounds stupid writing it down 🤦🏻♀️xxx

one of the most terrifying things along with a panic attack I have ever gone through! Touch wood I haven't had sleep paralysis episode for a few years but I do alot of lucid dreaming (think I told you before about me changing my dreams to suit me?) After everything came out about my ex step dad abusing me for years I used to get sleep paralysis alot and that's when I had to have sleeping tablets etc and I was already on antidepressants. I used to see him standing over me and taunting me but felt totally helpless. The brain sure does work in mysterious ways! Xx

no weirdness last night i just feel like I need to sleep for a week! I use ASMR light triggers which helps lavender is a good idea I have some essential oil of that il give it a go Thankyou xx

I also use to have panic attacks where I couldn’t breathe! Scary xx

Insomnia is that where you just can’t sleep your mind is wide awake? I use ASMR to try help me get to sleep. I’ve had those too hyperventilating and it is scary as I’ve got older it’s just the anxiety now but I’ve learnt to control it better, distracting myself etc I stopped using medication for a mental health condition Cyclothymia and anxiety meds because I was pregnant with Charlie and also wanted to try be less reliant on something.
The paralysis is very scary once I snapped out of it just before I busrt my own ear drums because I think I was holding my breath totally weird!! Xx
