Ughh I could just cry! My two year old some how got sick with a cold and a low grade fever and I kept him away from my newborn as much as I could and she still got sick. She is only 9 days old and she is congested and sneezing with boogers. I never had a baby sick this young and it’s throwing my anxiety thru the roof! Has anyone had a newborn sick so young that can put my mind at ease?

Yes, suck on her pacifier so that you get sick too. Now the antibodies that your body will produce can be passed along through your milk...If you’re not breastfeeding then express whatever drop you can manage to give her. Nose frida and saline drops to loosen the congestion before suctioning.
Also, PINE NEEDLES. And you should be able to find a bunch for free with Christmas just ending........will help with congestion. She can’t drink a pine needle tea but boil a little for the zesty aroma or stick a few branches around the room.

And turn on a hot shower and sit in there with her with the suction. The steam loosens mucous but the white noise is soothing if baby likes white noise.

My 5 week old and toddler are just getting over this. I understand your anxiety 100%. Saline drops, nose frida and make sure baby stays hydrated. I’m not going to lie she really suffered through it but 2 or 3 days in she got much better, not totally over it but better.

My youngest came home from the hospital with a cough and never stopped really for like the first three months of her life due to continuous colds. I spent a lot of money on snot suckers and saline sprays lol and spent many a night sitting up holding her in the bathroom with the shower running so she could breathe. It was a pain but she was okay and never had any issues from the colds

Thank you, I’ve done saline just now and I’m about to shower and put the swing in the bathroom. I stayed up all night monitoring her and holding her upright.
