Breastfed vs Formula-fed... or BOTH? I want to hear your guy’s opinion. Thanks so much!
It don’t really matter it’s up to the mom 🤷🏼♀️ I wanted to try bf on my last kid I told myself 2 weeks ended up doing it 4 yrs my other two were bottle fed I didn’t have a choice
I chose to breastfeed my older guy purely because it was free and I hate doing dishes. No formula = no bottles to wash. But as I learned more about breast milk, I was glad I went that route. I BF my oldest until he was 2 years and 7 months. Currently BF my youngest.
I could sing all the praises about breastfeeding but also all the ways it’s hard and formula feeding is easier. Whatever ends up working for you, your baby and your family is what’s best.
Still breastfeeding at 10 months. He does drink formula as well. Essentially you have to do what’s best for the baby
I prefer breastfeeding. My first was formula fed, my second was breastfed first 2 years, and I’m 3 months into breastfeeding my third. It’s nice because you can stay in bed at night for feeds and then go back to sleep. With bottles you have to get up and rinse them and it’s a pain. 😭 but I’ve done both and there’s nothing wrong with finding something that works... I just feel like breastfeeding has been better for me and my boys.
Formula fed my first as I was inexperienced and didn't produce enough milk. He is healthy, the trickiest part was finding a formula that agreed with him - lots of switching within that year until we found out he was lactose intolerant and then it was smooth sailing.
Breastfed my second until 18 months - tough but worth it. Free and convenient. I pumped when I went back to work - hardest part was getting him to take a bottle. He is going to be 4. Rarely gets sick or anything past a stuffy nose.
Currently breastfeeding my third. I was really torn about formula feeding or breastfeeding and decided to breastfeed again. Beginning was rough again, with the constant needing and wanting you but I'm happy we pushed through. He's 20 months and healthy and happy. Pumped when I went back to work with him as well. No longer pumping anymore.
I breast fed my son up until I lost my milk supply but then switched to formula. Both are good for baby
I believe to try and breast feed for at least the first 3 months. Then after that if you would like you could go to formula.
I formula fed both of my kids I am gonna try and breast feed this baby though.
Did any of your kids have any health problems from formula fed? I have a 1 month old baby and I am not producing enough breast milk
Whatever you can do is best for your baby. I have done both my opinion I like breastfeeding I like the bonds but it can get kind of tiring at times so I made sure to pump but I also am okay with my daughter needing or wanted formula and breastfeeding
I started out breastfeeding my first gave up at 4 months because I wasn't making enough milk. I was uneducated then.
My youngest I had EBF until she was 15 months old so almost 1.5 years old.
No difference in their health 🤷🏼♀️.
@twinpower_94, she is basically saying breastfed or formula fed is best as long as your baby is fed basically.
Fed is best!!!
For me, I prefer to breastfeed!! It’s cheeper. Easier. And less messy!
My oldest and youngest have had to have both. I’m hoping to be able to stop supplementing here pretty soon with my youngest though.
Whatever keeps them happy and growing healthy!
