Gotten Pregnant while breastfeeding? I've been told that breastfeeding is like birth control but not really. My daughter is 1yrs old but barely breastfeeds, more so to go to sleep at night or if she's sick and I get a period every month. Do y'all think breastfeeding would effect my chances of getting pregnant even tho I'm not breastfeeding as much anymore?

My doctor has always told me never to listen to that because she knows tons of her patients who got pregnant off believing they had lower chances breastfeeding. So I’m not saying it 100% cant effect your chances of getting pregnant, but I wouldn’t jump to assume you won’t or that if you’re not, that that’s the reason why.
If you have your period you can get pregnant..usually when your exclusively breastfeeding it surpresses your period
I got pregnant with my third breastfeeding my second child when she was 1 and constantly on me.
If you're getting your periods then it shouldn't be affecting it at all
