I find myself really sad when I talk to a mom and she’s so tired and beaten down yet laughs at the idea of her husband/boyfriend/partner actually stepping in and helping out so she can rest/heal from the flu or whatever she may really need. Then it upsets me when everyone gives dads so much praise for stepping up and helping out like it was such a huge sacrifice. They only provided the sperm and they’re looked at like freaking Adonis. We provide the incubator and then in most cases the initial food supply and we are just women.
Man from the government down has “dumbed down” the woman and her societal role to make man feel better about only having to work and provide resource while we are supposed to do everything else and serve that man...ummm NO!!! If you want service at my house, you too will serve. People are shocked that I get free time, days off, and the ability to travel and make my money too. My husband helped me make this handsome child, he gets to take care of him too. I insist that he takes advantage of labor laws and takes time off for certain conferences and appointments for example. CA gives you 10 hours a year no excuses! My husband also has to make sacrifices so I don’t get all of my personal identity stripped from me just because my main focus is my son with autism. He’s not allowed to just go to work, come home, and do nothing. He has to do the evening routine and spend time with his son, read school logs and sign them too. He has to take care of him one full day a week while I rest, handle my personal appointments etc.
I’m a stay at hone mom who makes money on the side. I have a lot of ambition, goals and dreams that I refuse to not pursue just because someone wants a squeaky clean house and hot food on the table when they walk in the door. You’ll still have that clean house and hot meal, but that hot meal might be door dash because I’m on a plane coming home from a day of work in AZ and you might have to go pick Zay up from my Dad. I still did my part and covered the basics until you could take over. When I go make money it’s not chump change so it’s worth the sacrifices he has to make. My husband gets it and does what needs to be done with the exception of a mandatory work thing he can’t get out of.
I guess this was more of a rant of annoyance than anything but the point is that we can’t let this mom life be it for us. We have to still do us and we need supportive partners to keep that flow good and positive and A LOT OF THESE MEN NEED TO STEP THE F UP!!!
End rant
