My dad came to visit me from another country. He is 60 and fell on the floor. He is not able to stand or walk. We managed our way to a walk-in where I told the receptionist our situation and told us to wait. After 2 hours they called us and as sons as the male nurse saw us, asked us if he could walk, I said no, that’s why we are here. His knee and ankle hurts.
Suddenly a female nurse came and made fun of my dad condition (his hands and legs are diferente due to an illness he had 25 years ago) and told us “THIS IS A WALK IN” you have to walk. If you can’t walk don’t come here.
How come? I was so furious and sad to see my dad like that. He has international insurance.
I’m so pissed
Wow that’s not cool, I’ll file a complaint and I hope your dad is ok. I would of told her if she can’t be help patients then she shouldn’t be in that line of work. That’s fuck up what she said
You definitely should have taken him to the ER. I would have called an ambulance they have to transport him. They have social workers to work with you to get what he’ll need. Ultimately it’s the insurances responsibility to cover the chair.
I would look for used chairs online. Or goodwill etc.
File a complaint. It sounds like a bad joke but also maybe she was trying to say that the extent of your father's injuries were out of their normal care. Did he end up getting treated?
Fuck that place. How rude! I would've cussed her. I would've went to the ER instead. They would have gave you a wheelchair. Hope your dad is ok that hurts my heart.
