Definitely best to get it out. You do not want infections spreading. While it’s true that a lot of important development happens in the first tri, I believe I had read that some of the reasoning behind urging women to wait if possible until second tri has to do with liability and the mother’s comfort. Dentists worry about being blamed if a women were to miscarry after dental work in the first trimester even though it may be coincidental. Also, a lot of women deal with morning sickness and having all that stuff in your mouth is less than ideal. Did you inform them of your pregnancy? If you were prescribed antibiotics you would want to make sure they are safe

Yes hun. I'm going to have one pulled tomorrow. This is my 4th baby. This will be the 2nd tooth I've had to have pulled during my pregnancies.

You’re good, the abcess could have caused a blood infection causing more harm than good. You should be just fine in your pregnancy, if you have any concerns follow up with your OB and Dentist for help maintaining your health while it heals and your pregnancy progresses.
